Corrections Policy

ElectionAnalyst.com
Last Updated: 05.05.2025

At ElectionAnalyst.com, we are committed to publishing accurate, fair, and fact-based reporting. We operate on the principle that truth and accountability are essential to democracy, and we also recognise that no publication is infallible. When mistakes are made, we correct them with transparency, responsibility, and integrity — without fear, favour, or external pressure.

This policy also affirms our editorial independence and the legal protections that apply to our editors, contributors, and the platform itself under international freedom of expression standards.

Editorial Standards & Due Diligence

All content on ElectionAnalyst.com is subject to an internal editorial review process that includes:

Source verification

Fact-checking by analysts or editors

Evaluation of potential bias or omission

Contextual framing of political claims or statements

Despite this, we acknowledge that updates, reinterpretations, or errors may occur. We welcome reader input as part of our correction and improvement process.

Correction Classifications

1. Minor Corrections (Silent Updates)

Includes typographical errors, formatting adjustments, or style revisions that do not affect the substance or intent of the content. These are amended silently without notification.

2. Substantive Corrections (Public Notice)

When a significant factual inaccuracy is identified — such as a misquoted source, incorrect statistic, or misattributed statement — we will:

Clearly note the correction on the article (usually at the top or foot)

Indicate the date and nature of the change

Maintain a visible record of editorial transparency

3. Clarifications

When a statement is accurate but could be misunderstood, we may issue a clarification to add important context or nuance. This ensures reader understanding without altering the factual content.

4. Retractions

In the rare event of a major ethical or factual breach, an article may be removed and replaced with a retraction notice, explaining the reason and date. This is done in accordance with editorial board review and is never based on external coercion.

Submitting a Correction Request

Any individual, institution, or reader may submit a correction request by contacting:

Email: corrections@electionanalyst.com

Please include:

A link to the article

A clear description of the issue

Any relevant supporting documentation

We aim to assess all valid submissions within 72 hours, and respond with either an update, a clarification, or an editorial explanation.

Legal Protection & Non-Liability Clause

Freedom of Expression Guarantee

ElectionAnalyst.com and all its content are governed by the principles of press freedom and freedom of expression as protected by:

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR)

Regional press freedom frameworks (e.g., the European Convention on Human Rights, Commonwealth principles)

We reject the jurisdiction of foreign censorship laws, politically motivated defamation claims, or extraterritorial legal threats aimed at silencing commentary, election monitoring, or civic reporting.

Platform & Personnel Protection

Editors, analysts, and contributors of ElectionAnalyst.com are not personally liable for political offence caused by truthful or opinion-based reporting.

Anonymous or pseudonymous contributors are protected where disclosure would risk personal safety.

Any legal claim intended to harass or intimidate will be treated as a violation of press freedom and editorial independence.

ElectionAnalyst.com does not recognise state censorship or speech suppression where it violates the public’s right to know.

Archival & Transparency Protocol

All corrections are retained in an internal editorial log for reference and audit purposes. Retractions and major changes remain visible to uphold transparency with our readers.

We do not erase published history unless legally compelled under internationally recognised human rights frameworks — not domestic political laws.

Final Editorial Statement

“Corrections are a mark of integrity, not weakness. But we will never amend or retract truth under pressure, threat, or unlawful coercion.”
